Mitt Romney Set To Speak At IFA Convention

The International Franchise Association (IFA) is gearing up for its 51st annual convention in Las Vegas in February headlined by Mitt Romney. As the former Massachusetts governor prepares for a near-certain second run for the presidency, he will have the opportunity to showcase his credentials before 2,500 small business owners in what coincidentally is an early nominating state in the Republican primary race.

The theme of the convention is “Building the Future Together.” Organizers plan to focus on ways that small business owners can position and prepare themselves as the economy starts to recover.

What makes Romney’s resonate with business owners?

The IFA’s selection of Romney is attributed to his renowned economic success presiding over a dramatic reversal of state fortunes and a period of sustained economic expansion. Without raising taxes or increasing debt, he was able to balance the budget every year of his administration, closing a $3 billion budget gap inherited when he took office and created tens of thousands of jobs. His achievements serve as remarkable examples for all economy-minded business owners to follow.

As the convention headliner, Romney will speak at the opening general session. In addition, Forbes Inc. CEO Steve Forbes, who ran in the GOP primaries for president in 1996 and 2000, is keynoting the event during the closing luncheon.

Romney’s appearance is expected to benefit both the business owners and his own political standing. As Romney devises a campaign strategy, his appeal before the business owners gathered in Las Vegas will remind the critical group of his place in the race. Currently, he is beating his potential competition in polling that sampled the 2012 GOP electorate in Nevada. While he won the state’s GOP caucus in 2008, the coming presidential race is motivation to run up the margin in his favor, once again. Given the country’s need for economic guidance, Romney’s appearance may encourage both business owners and voters to start taking care of business.
